Jacdaw French Line Cavalry.

. Here are some shots of the soon to be released Jacdaw French Line Cavalry. There will be 2 packs Command- Officer Standard, Trumpeter and Kettledrummer and Troopers - 4 charging troopers.- 2 variants
The photos show the pre-production master castings just as they came out of the mould- with the exception of the kettledrummers horse which I'd used for a previous picture and had been blackwashed. I wanted to show these "au naturelle" so to speak rahter than fiddled about with cleaned, grey sprayed or whatever. The point is what you see is what you get- with horse variants. Now in the fullness I or more probably David will paint some of these and painted pics will go up on the website- likewise some of the other packs as we get round to it. I get tired of snide comments about pictures. Which would you prefer actual soldiers or just pictures of 'em you can't always have both as there are not enough hours in the day IMHO this is some of the best stuff David has done- same style as Willie but frequently better detail .with all the movement and style but a bit sharper.. I like these and will be adding some to my own collection.

  1. Wow! They look terrific, Andy. Personally I don't like my units to be charging all the time, hence putting David's Willie equivalents on trotting horses which still seemed to work. I guess there isn't a choice here but of course I shall be ordering some anyway as I just think they are the best!

  2. John if you want trotting horses for them just let me know when you are ready. I have a big box of masters from David to go into moulds - inc British Artillery and Austrian Hussars plus more civilians. Basically enough greens to keep me going until Christams .
