I should have learned in 50 years. Really you ' d think I'd know by now. Opening your gob can get you into bother. Not that I'm frightened of the odd ruck but just possibly its those times that don't end in a punch- up that you have to watch. When a well intentioned offer can cause you more bother than you expected.
Let me explain gentle reader....
I have a certain relative, a young feller me lad, who is a workshop nut but doesn't know one end of a painttbrush from t'other. Doubtless the more perspicacious of you will see where this is going. Yep I got lumberd . See the pic of my painting desk as it currently stands. Some nice 40mm ECW cavalry ,a few old Willie Grassins to finally finish the unit, a rare and beutiful Les Higgins Marlburian general, and sticking out like a pork butcher in a mosque a dirty big wossname with a huge whumpeta gun and ridiculous sword. Fair makes you weep don't it? However, I thought to myself, Sod the GW paint schemes, its a tank so Wehrmacht 3 colour camo with the pilot in a black panzer suit .... or similar. Of course my young relative has put the whole damn thing together so its a bugger to get in amongst the twiddly bits. Apparently this plastic kit is the thick end of 25 quid so care is required and to be honest its a bit of a challenge so I'll get there but thats my historical cred out the window...

Howeve to continue in a spirit of historical re-affirnmation here are some pics of some proper gear.
Recant additions to my 40mm TYW/ECW collection
Including the first of the Scottish lancer- a mixed marriage figure containg Sash and Saber Romanoff and Jacdaw parts.
The Cuirassier is pure Jacdaw and the couple of Infantry are again mised bit Romanoff and Sash and Saber.
Once I get this thingy out of the way I can get back to more proper stuff... mind you I might dig out the sci- fi...
Nice TYW/ECW additions, like the cuirassier
